Notes on assisted reproduction: a bioethical perspective on the regulatory situation in Ecuador.

The purpose of this article is to outline the regulatory situation in Ecuador regarding assisted reproduction techniques and the need for their regulation, especially when the National Assembly has been instructed to dictate the norms that regulate them as a measure to guarantee non-repetition; to this end, general guidelines are outlined to allow the reader to understand the problem so that he/she can go deeper in other areas. Aspects related to the status of the embryo, the mechanisms of assisted reproduction, the effects and ethical and legal problems that may arise from them are raised.
