What permits does a renewable energy project need in Ecuador?+
Generally, projects require authorizations from the electricity regulator, environmental licenses and, depending on the case, land and water use permits. We support the process of securing these permits from the project's feasibility stage onward.
What is the tokenization of energy projects?+
It is a financing model that digitally represents ownership interests or economic rights in an energy project, broadening the sources of investment available. It is a recent development that we are following closely alongside our clients in the sector.
What is the difference between a concession and a license in the energy sector?+
A concession grants the right to exploit a resource or provide a service for a set term under specific conditions established by the State, while a license authorizes a particular activity subject to technical and environmental requirements. The applicable regime depends on the type of project.
